Jewel Osco Weekly Ad - Jewel-Osco is a supermarket chain headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. Jewel-Osco has 185 stores throughout northern, central and western Illinois; Eastern Iowa; and part of northwest Indiana. Jewel-Osco and Jewel is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Idaho-based Albertsons Boise. The original company started as a coffee delivery service, door-to-door before it expanded into delivering groceries non-durable and then to the grocery store and supermarket. Before 1984 was acquired by American Stores, Jewel evolved into a multi-state holding company that operated several large supermarket chains and retail chain stores other non-food is located from coast to coast and has been operating with a variety of different brands.

the company's expansion continued throughout the mid-20th century. In 1932, Jewel Osco Ad acquired the Chicago unit of the Canadian company Loblaw Groceterias, Inc., the chain of 77 department stores, as well as four Chicago grocery store operated by West Central Company Stores, and they began operating under the name Jewel Food Stores. In 1934, Jewel Food Stores join Jewel Tea Company. Parent company name remains as "Jewel Tea Company" until 1967 when the shareholders decided to change the company name to Jewel Osco Weekly Ad, Inc. to better reflect the expansion into different markets. In 1967, the company went public and its shares are traded on the Midwest Stock Exchange.
